Why Elon Musk changed the future of names by Nash Escalada
One thing I remember this morning while watching at this video was about how my digital name choice was propeled by the desire of identity, something unique and special for me.
Decided to drive my search towards my appetite for new things digital that started to arrive at homes those days, and always trying to look inside them made preceive myself as a kind of binary ghost at some distant binary city:El Bit Fantasmawas born.
A few days later discovered that PC DOS diskette bot sector contains code to make the computer start and 8 bytes were left to write some name or factory id (OEM Name they called). Started playing with abreviations (BITFANT, BITFAN…) and suddenly BIT-MAN arrived.
Then as time moves forward just used a stylish Bit-Man or El bit Fantasma emphasizing it with ‘. Later when security was the fashion just decided to make both, alias and real name, appear together in my e-mail signature and let other ones bind one to another emphasizing my white hat intentionality.
Nowadays at my current job people started calling me Woz, not because of my wisdom but by physical resemblance to Steve Wozniak. That’s what they said 😉
